Boston Consulting Group

‘Consulting is an international business’. That was the firm belief of Bruce Henderson, the founder of The Boston Consulting Group. The international character was and is one of the key pillars of BCG's success.

Bruce Henderson founded The Boston Consulting Group in 1963 in Boston. Soon BCG opened offices in Asia and Europe, creating an international network. The detailed timeline on our international website gives an overview of BCG's history.

In the early nineties, BCG also turned to the Netherlands. It assessed its options: merging with an existing firm or setting up an entirely new office. BCG opted for the first option and partnered with Horringa & De Koning, which had been founded in 1968. In 1993, Horringa & De Koning merged into The Boston Consulting Group and BCG became an active player in the Netherlands.
